The psychosocial empowerment training for CSO representatives, originally planned for July, was postponed to October due to the political situation in Syria and challenges in reaching participants. The sessions were delivered in a hybrid format, combining face-to-face trainings in Afrin (12–14 October) and Idlib (19–21 October) with two rounds of online sessions held on 15–17 October and 22–24 October.
Participants were selected through a fair and transparent process involving interviews and a needs assessment survey. Since many had previously attended basic trainings, the curriculum was redesigned to include more advanced and practical content in collaboration with the trainers. The face-to-face sessions included theoretical discussions, case studies, group work, and interactive workshops, offering strong networking and experiential learning opportunities. Although online participation was lower than expected, the sessions provided an accessible option for those unable to attend in person. Feedback indicated that face-to-face trainings were more effective due to higher engagement and interaction, while future online sessions will incorporate more interactive methods to improve participation.
All photo and video documentation followed consent and confidentiality procedures. Overall, participants reported significant improvements in their knowledge and skills, particularly in advocacy, psychosocial empowerment, and community engagement.
