As part of the activity, a total of five rights-based film screenings followed by movie chat sessions were organised in Afrin (2 screenings), Idlib (2 screenings), and Aleppo (1 screening) to promote dialogue on gender equality, women’s rights, and social inclusion.

In Afrin, the screenings took place on 12 November 2025. The film “Wadjda” was attended by 28 participants (18 women and 10 men), while “The Perfect Candidate” was attended by 32 participants (28 women and 4 men). In Idlib, two screenings were organised on 29 November 2025, where 30 women attended the screening of “Wadjda”, and 30 women attended “The Perfect Candidate”. In Aleppo, one screening was held on 13 November 2025, bringing together 30 participants, including 24 women and 6 men. Overall, the activity reached the planned target of 150 participants, providing a platform for participants to discuss the films and reflect on issues related to women’s rights, gender equality, and the challenges faced by women in different social contexts.

The discussions encouraged participants to reflect on gender stereotypes, discrimination, women’s participation in public life, and the barriers faced by women and girls in their communities. The activity demonstrated the value of cinema as a tool for raising awareness, promoting dialogue, and encouraging participants to develop ideas for advancing gender equality and women’s empowerment.
