As part of the activity, two rounds of Annual Youth Round Table Meetings were organised. The first round took place in Afrin on 11 August 2025 and in Idlib on 16 August 2025, bringing together a total of 30 young participants, including 22 women and 8 men. In Afrin, 7 women and 8 men participated, while 15 women attended the meeting in Idlib. The second round of meetings was organised in Idlib on 21 May 2026 and in Azaz on 22 May 2026. A total of 30 participants, all of whom were women, attended the meetings, with 15 women participating at each location. Accordingly, across the two rounds of implementation, the activity reached a total of 60 participants (52 women and 8 men), successfully exceeding the planned target of 30 participants per round.
The meetings aimed to finalize the project’s digital advocacy campaign and develop a policy and advocacy document to promote women’s participation in leadership and decision-making processes. Building on the outputs of the previous hackathons, workshops, and the context analysis, participants discussed the political, economic, social, cultural, and digital barriers limiting women’s participation in public life. Through participatory group work, they identified key challenges, analyzed their root causes, and developed practical recommendations to address discriminatory attitudes, weak institutional representation, limited legal protection, and gender stereotypes.
Participants also designed the framework of a youth-led digital advocacy campaign, identifying key messages, communication tools, target audiences, and strategies to increase public awareness on gender equality. During the sessions, participants worked collaboratively to prepare a draft policy paper containing recommendations for decision-makers aimed at strengthening women’s leadership and participation in social and political life. The discussions emphasized the importance of inclusive policies, legal reforms, community awareness, digital advocacy, and stronger cooperation between civil society organizations and public institutions.
As a result of the activity, an integrated digital campaign concept and a draft advocacy document were produced, forming the basis for the project’s subsequent advocacy and dissemination activities.
