Upon the guidance of the project expert, the closing meeting originally planned to take place in Türkiye was relocated to Aleppo and organised as a two-day event on 26–27 June 2026. Four project representatives travelled from Türkiye to attend the meeting.

The event brought together project beneficiaries and representatives of civil society organisations, public institutions, local authorities and youth groups. The Deputy Governor of Aleppo and representatives of the Consulate General of the Republic of Türkiye in Aleppo also attended.

The programme included a panel discussion on the project’s achievements and the role of arts and culture in promoting gender equality and women’s rights. During the panel discussion, Syrian artist Yafa Diab shared her experiences, while project beneficiaries and participants reflected on the impact of the project and their learning experiences. 

Participants in the project training activities shared their experiences and explained how the knowledge and skills gained had contributed to their personal and professional development. Women whose digital stories had been produced under the project expressed their satisfaction that their experiences had become visible and reached wider audiences. The enthusiasm of the young participants and their reflections during the event also demonstrated the project’s positive influence on their confidence, participation and sense of inclusion.

The Women’s Stories and the two rights-based short films, “A Sound Without an Echo” and “Permission to Film,” were screened. The screenwriters presented the background and key messages of the films and engaged with the audience in discussions on gender equality and women’s rights. The programme concluded with a live musical performance highlighting the contribution of arts and culture to women’s empowerment, dialogue and social cohesion.

Promotional materials consisting of canvas bags, notebooks, pens and power banks were distributed to participants during the closing event to support project visibility.
